The architects ensured that the law of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects No. 6235 was enacted on January 27, 1954 with the struggle of the engineers, which lasted about 25 years. Thus, the Istanbul and Izmir branches of the Association of Turkish Architects of Architects, who transferred most of their powers and facilities to the Chamber of Architects, closed down. The Union is still working in Ankara as the Architects Association 1927. First General Assembly and Organization On 18 October 1954, the Founding General Assembly of TMMOB was convened at Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography. On December 15, 1954, the Chamber of Architects was established in the General Assembly of the Chamber of Architects held at the Istanbul Fine Arts Academy. Initially, the country was divided into three regions: Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir. In the 1960s, new representations were opened and the organization became more widespread throughout the country with professional audit practice and even reached towns. As of the second half of the 1980s, a large number of these representatives gained branch status.
