Located right next to Balıklıgöl, it is a wonderful complex with a very nice atmosphere. Especially if you are there during a period of dhikr, you feel very different emotions. It is a very spiritual place.

Mevlid-i Halil Camii, Dergâh Platosu içerisinde, Balıklıgöl civarında yer alır. Mevlid, “kutlu doğum” demektir. Hz. İbrahim Peygamberin yanı başındaki mağarada doğduğuna inanıldığından, camiye Mevlid-i Halil Camii adı verilmiştir.

Mevlid-i Halil Mosque is located in the Dergah Plateau, around Balıklıgöl. Mevlid means "happy birthday". Hz. Since it is believed that Prophet Abraham was born in the cave next to it, the mosque was named Mevlid-i Halil Mosque.

Historically and religiously quite important if was, but according to the old testament (and my brief research) the birthplace of Abraham was in the city of Ur in Iraq between Bagdad and Mosul so the accuracy of that claim stands in question. Still it’s a spiritual place and the adjacent mosque is beautiful from the inside so it’s worth going in any case. There is some water source in the inside - I drank from it and I was fine afterwards so no worries there
