Nous avons eu la chance d'assister à une cérémonie de Derviches tourneurs. Un moment fort en émotion, beau, intense. Durée 1 h. Pour y assister gratuitement le samedi, l'entrée n'étant pas libre, rendez vous à l'IRFA dans la journée pour y retirer des places.

The Mevlana Cultural Centre is where the Sema (Whirling Dervish Ceremony) takes place every Saturday night at 7PM. It has a very good, clean and well kept auditorium. The Audio system is great. The seats are comfortable. The gallery is beautiful. The only problem we faced was that there was no English translation. Everything was in Turkish, plus because its free, yes its FREE, they don't give any pamphlets or brochures or any kind of reading material before or after the Sema Ceremony. So if you are going to Konya for the Sema, you should do your homework before you go to experience the true Sufi atmosphere. There are many Dervishes seen in Cafes and on the streets in Istanbul, but this cannot be compared to those on any level. These are the true Sufis, who practice Sufism. Every Sufi step has a lot of meaning, so for the best experience, do some reading for sure, or you'll get bored after 20 minutes or so, as there is a lot of repetition.

Wonderfull place Absolutely amazing place where you can see whirling dervish ceremony. The ambiance is very good. Completely free of charge Wonderful and unforgettable experience. Highly recommended to visit, if you happen to be in Konya at any Saturday. It has a peaceful atmosphere. Everything was designed with fine slim thinking. Two separate lounges were great and perfect.I didn't know that the show of sema was telling the creation of the universe.

Amazing place to witness Mevlevi whirling dervish ceremony. This is where the legitimate ritual is conducted and made open for viewers to attend, it is not a dance performance for tourists. I was amazed! The Sufi dervishes are in a deep meditative state while actively spinning around in an organized and calm manner. I found it entrancing and mesmerizing. Check the schedule before you go. Visited in 2018.
