One must see the whirling dervishes ceremony (also called Semazen) at the Mevlana Cultural Center. The show takes place on each Saturday evening, entry is free, a mystic journey is guaranteed. In the basement of the Center you'll find several booths with literature, arts, crafts and gifts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place, magnificent event. Sema (dervish ceremony) is not dance, this is much more. This is special way thanksgiving to Allah. You need to understand and see the experience by eyes, ears, heart and mind!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Go go go! Every Saturday It’s starts punctually at 19:00 so be there a half an hour earlier to get a seat in the first rows if possible. The pictures (which most of you will want to take) look much better if they are not taken from up above. I moved in the middle of the performance...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really enjoyed this spiritual experience with the “Sema”, you’ll need to get a ticket (I was invited so I didn’t know if it costed anything, but I think the tickets are free). The overall program lasts for about 2:30 hours, with Sufi “mystic” music and songs at the beginning, then the dervishes come and start moving in a specific way. Then they start the famous rotation on three stages.
The ceremony ends with a prayer and ends with the dervishes leaving calmly and peacefully.
A must see experience whenever you are in Konya.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whirling dervishes still perform every Saturday 19:00-20:00. Tickets are 30 Lira each. If coming by car navigate to the cultural centers car park it's free parking. The show was great to see, with soothing music and with the meditation being performed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit every Saturday to watch the traditional Whirling Dervishes performance held from 7pm to 8pm. The entry fees is 30 Liras and the parking is free. The dance is definitely one of a kind don't miss it if you are in Konya on a Saturday.
