Tarihçe
Bolu merkezinde, tarihi Tabaklar Hamamı yanında bulunan konağın yapımı 1880 yılında Hocazade İbrahim Efendi tarafından tamamlanmıştır. Geçirdiği büyük depremlere rağmen günümüze kadar ayakta kalabilmiş sivil mimari örneklerinden biri olan konak; Osmanlı mimarisine uygun olarak ahşap ağırlıklı, taş temelli, kıtık sıva üzerine beyaz badanalı olarak inşa edilmiştir.
Üç kattan oluşan konağın uygun cephelerinde, dikdörtgen çerçeveli pencerelere geniş yer verilerek odaların daha çok ışık alması sağlanmıştır. Odalar, her katta bulunan sofaların çevresine yerleştirilmiş olup, her odada ocak(şömine), cin dolapları, yüklükler mevcuttur. Tavanlar, merdivenler ve dolaplar başta olmak üzere ahşap işçiliğinin sayısız örneğini bulunduran konak, 2013 yılında aslına sadık kalınarak restore edilmiştir.
Günümüzde; özgün ve yöresel tatları birleştiren mutfağıyla, 100 yılı aşkın bir tarihin içinde, ”Mercan-i Restaurant” olarak hizmet vermektedir.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very bad ambience... waiters kept moving stuff and stomping feet hard on ground. No English menu or english speaking staff. Charged extra over apparent confusion in order. Had to wait a long time for food and even longer for bill. Had to ask twice for bill and still talk a long time. Not recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To be honest, I expected more. Staff are helpful. Food is not bad but I expected much better. Ambiance was OK but I expected better. Service was not the best, food was late to arrive. Menu is rich with lots of items. All in all it can be much better. This is the first time I give 2 stars in 200+ reviews. Disappointed.

It's one of the best restaurants as I tested their foods. If you're a tourist visit the Mercan-i restaurant and have test delicious meal's if you don't know how to prefer foods, ask waiter's.
