Great hotel and amenities. Day staff are very friendly and helpful. Night staff are kind of unfriendly. Turkish good night on Fridays is exquisite while the rest of food served other days and periods though generously offered is not quiet delicious. Had their food game improved I would gladly give full 5 stars in a heartbeat.

We loved our 3 night stay here. Very attentive staff. Lovely food and a very welcoming, but natural ambience about the place.

Great view from the room every morning, great food in all inclusive, most of the sports in package - tennis, squash, ping pong, bollard, etc, cleaning every day, mini bar with drinks included, one visit in restaurant on 12 floor included :)

The best vacation of my life! The food was very tasty, the service too kind, never allowing the guests to wait longer than 2 minutes. Everything was very clean, there where masks and disinfection liquids everywhere. The beach is approx. 100 meter away from the hotel, but there was also a beach snack bar there, so that you don't need to go back to the hotel restaurant in order to eat if you don't want to leave the beach. There is also a nice pool in front of the hotel with a pool bar. I could writte on and on about this hotel, but to sum it up, Melas Lara is something I would warmly recommend.

No light, rooms do not look like they do in the pictures, a good hotel in youre on a budget but not for comfort or holiday stays if you want something a bit nicer. Would give 3/5 rating. Had very good facilities for children but the hotel is huge and very outdated.

We had an amazing, relaxing week at Melas Lara hotel. Our room was clean with a king size bed and a nice balcony with a view on the sea and resort... the sun coming in the morning... The mini bar was always filled up with beers, water and soft drinks. The bathtub was equipped with a jacuzzi function. The food was very good. So much choice... everyday a feast. The amount of it is indecent. Drinks kept coming and the waiters were lovely serving us again as soon as we had finished. Amazing Buffet... Turkish salads, octopus, vegetables, grilled meat and fish...and the patisserie wow !!! Breakfast is TURKISH and continental style. Lots of fruits, cereals but also salads, ham, dry sausage... Omelette... Croissants, bread and jam... Yogurt... I mean there is for all the taste ! Also once in the all inclusive package we could eat on the (a la carte) fish restaurant on the 12th floor of the hotel ! Beautiful view and great dinner. The lounge bar is great for cocktails and there is music entertainment in the evening but also coffee, Turkish tea and patisserie in the afternoon. We spent lots of time in the spa as we loved the hamman and the sauna and also as in march the weather wasn't too good for a beach in bikini days! It's true that the steam room wasn't working but there were 2 saunas and this beautiful hammam. We had a scrub and massage there ! Magical ! It's true that the spa receptionist is not the most friendly person but her colleagues make up for it. Also the prices for massage are not so cheap indeed. Same price as London. And this staff member kept trying to sell it at the entrance... a bit annoying. Also there is a heated pool indoors. Where they do aquagym. And a little gym room where you can use the machines ! And play Squash. The outdoor pool is beautiful with a bar next to it. Shame it was too cold for us to swim in it but that was because it wasn't summer !!! The perk of being off season was that it wasn't as busy as July or August! I can't imagine how it must be in summer when it's packed with very demanding tourists... The staff was friendly and helpful with us. They could understand my English partner and my french/ English accent ! We had no problems with communication. Also there are all those very cute cats everywhere ( apparently it's what happens in Turkey, in Cyprus and Greece too) but they don't look like dirty street cats as the hotel staff has built a house for them and feed them so they are well maintained but they are not the company cats type you will have in your home. They are only here when you eat outdoors and beg for food but not for cuddles or being a pet! Overall amazing time ! And I could have stay much longer.

Not 5*, great facilities but staff are rude resulting in a bad experience. Pro's - Breakfast was good. - Large variety of food. - Unlimited drinks. - A pool table. - Heated indoor pool. - Lobby area was pretty. - Location was close to the beach. - They have entertainment in the evenings and exercise classes in the mornings that you can join. - The view from our room was beautiful. - Our room had a jet jacuzzi bath which made up for the one in the swimming pool not working. - Toilets have a bidet. - Good location if staying in Lara and/or resort only. Cons - Staff spoke little to no English despite it being an international 5-star hotel. Hotel guests are usually from other countries, so English should be expected as a bare minimum. This resulted in a lot of miscommunication and frustration. - Despite the large variety, dinner was very bland. - The spa prices were expensive. I paid €75 for an hour massage, and the masseuse didn’t speak English, so he didn’t understand when I explained that he was being too harsh and it was painful, resulting in a very horrible massage experience. - We had to call and ask for bathrobes five times until they finally gave them to us. - I don’t think the staff is intentionally incompetent. There is obviously a communication barrier resulting in a negative experience. - I wouldn’t say this is a 5-star hotel. - The reception staff were always moody, and the lady at the spa reception was very rude and treated us like an inconvenience. I don’t think this hotel deserves to be called 5* as my experience certainly wasn’t that. Guests want a pleasant experience, and we didn’t get this here. I think the staff should improve their customer service as it is seriously lacking. - Also, for those who aren’t aware, this hotel is not in Antalya, and you’d need to travel around 30 mins by taxi if you want to go into Antalya. - A few of the facilities in the spa centre were broken/ under repair.
