After serving as the Vice President of Religious Affairs for a while, he was appointed as the President of Religious Affairs by proxy on January 15, 1968, and continued this duty until 25.08.1972. Later, he was transferred to the Presidency Counsel and Ankara Central preacher. In the 14 October 1973 elections, he was elected Erzurum Senator. He continued in this post until September 12, 1980.
