Lucky Horse Ranch

The owner is unprofessional and behaved recklessly and dangerously. The sunset horseback ride was the worst tourist experience of my life. There was myself, three Italian girls, the owner, and his assistant on the ride. One of the girls admitted that she was a bit fearful of horses prior to starting the ride, rather than doing anything to put the girl at ease the owner yelled at the girl throughout the ride as her horse was slow and she was struggling to keep up with the group. The owner also yelled at me when my horse got too close to another, a situation I was trying to correct but given I was unfamiliar with the horse and ride infrequently was having some trouble with. Owner doesn't seem to realize many of his guests are new to horses and rather than providing guidance just yells and ridicules them. At one point during the tour we stopped for tea. The owner hit the back of a horse to move it towards a post to secure it during the break. The hit startled the horse and in turn the horse kicked its hind legs out nearly kicking the head of a girl on the tour. I was shocked and appalled that the owner would behave so carelessly. Additionally, at one point a tour of people riding ATVs passed us, the owner jumped off his horde, grabbed a brick from the road, and was screaming, yelling, at the ATV tour guide threatening to throw a brick at him. It's a shame the owner behaved so badly, the horses were sweet and the landscape beautiful but it was difficult to enjoy as I was in fear the entire time. I would highly recommend going elsewhere for your horseback riding experience. It may be that the owner was just having a bad day, but even so no matter how bad your day is if you're at work you should behave professionally and not yell at your guests, endanger them, or threaten people with bricks. Unbelievable.

I’ve visited Irfan for the third time in 3 years, and I’ll never ever get tired of the beautiful, stunning views of Cappadocia! Irfan truly loves his horses and really cares about their wellbeing, which clearly affect the horses in a good way – all horses are happy, very gentle and well trained. As a veterinarian student and rider with 20 years of riding experience, I’ll highly recommend Lucky Horse ranch! I’m forever thankful that I got to know Irfan and his lovely little ranch. Unfortunately many ranches seems to care more about the economic prosperity than the condition of their horses, so my request to you that might consider to do horseback riding in Cappadocia: Please do not compromise on the wellbeing of the horses when choosing a ranch in Goreme.

I am incredibly upset because on our last day in Cappadocia, we had planned a sunset horseback ride with this company. They confirmed and gave us a pickup time of 15:00. We waited for over 30 minutes and after messaging over 3 times, we received an email that “they had a big problem and could not do the tour.” This was not handled well and we should have been given more notice and been told right away if an accident did happen. We are now no longer able to plan another backup activity. EDIT: After being messaged and called SEVERAL times after posting my review, I was sent unsolicited graphic photos of a hurt horse and was told a horse died in accident. If this did happen, that is incredibly sad, but we should’ve been contacted when it happened not significantly afterwards. If we had known even 10 minutes before 3:00, we could’ve gotten on a different tour but instead were unable to do anything.

I have been visiting Lucky Horse Ranch twice the last 2 years and I will for sure come back to this magical place! His horses are not just a way of making an income but they are a part of his family. As one that have been working with horses all my life and as an excperienced horseback rider I can only give Lucky Horse Ranch my highest recommondations. Thank you for some memorable experiences!

Had a smooth and enjoyable time with the horses. Owners were caring and you can tell they love their horses very much. Would recommend!

We really enjoyed the ride, even in this freezing weather it was definetly one us the best experience. My partner is not Turkish speaker, owner is bilingual so it was so easy. Horses are lovely. Sultan and Melek ? We are really happy, thank you. ?

Very friendly people and very nice horses if you want to get a new expirience, i booked by airbnb and they pick me from hotel and left at the hotel, very nice expirience really!

Very strongly recommend! The Lucky Horse Ranch and Flora were fantastic! We were very lucky to get a private tour and their ranch is extremely cute! With just a few horses you are guaranteed a personalized experience. The sunset tour is highly recommended!
