LC Waikiki Fransız tasarımcı George Amoual ve ortağı tarafından 1988 yılında Fransa'da kurulmuştur. İki ortak Fransızca "arkadaşlar" anlamına gelen "Les Copains" kelimelerinin baş harfleri olan "LC" kısaltmasına ünlü Waikiki Plajı'nın adını ekleyerek LC Waikiki markasını yaratmıştır.

LC Waikiki was founded in France in 1988 by French designer George Amoual and his partner. The two partners created the LC Waikiki brand by adding the name of the famous Waikiki Beach to the abbreviation of "LC", which is the initials of the words "Les Copains" meaning "friends" in French.
