It is rumored that Timur, who advanced to the area where the Battle of Ankara would take place in 1402, used this bridge with his army. Çeşnigir Bridge was rebuilt by Mimar Sinan during the Egypt Campaign of Yavuz Sultan Selim. Before Kapulukaya Dam came into operation, it was on the road route, but later on, the foot parts of the bridge remained in the dam water. The 110-meter-long, 6-meter-wide bridge rests on solid foundations in rocky terrain. In order to sit on a solid ground in Kızılırmak, there is a significant slope in the middle section.
