Ein besonderes Ereignis dieser Partnerschaft war der 2.877 km lange Staffellauf von Weilburg nach Kizilcahamam im September/Oktober 2008. Der vom Spiridon Club Oberlahn organisierte Lauf führte durch Deutschland, Österreich, Ungarn, Rumänien und Bulgarien und die letzten ca. 700 km durch die Türkei.
Twin city in Turkey, partnership since 2006 The 30,000-inhabitant city is located near Ankara, lives from tourism, thermal baths and a nature park on the one hand and a lively economic life on the other. Current issues in the city are urban development, the use of thermal and mineral water springs, the nature park and forest, and the expansion of tourism work. A special event of this partnership was the 2,877 km long relay run from Weilburg to Kizilcahamam in September / October 2008. The run organized by the Spiridon Club Oberlahn led through Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria and the last approx. 700 km through Turkey.
