★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kastamonu Kurtuluş Savaşı'nda katkıları ortada park düzenlemesi mükemmel olmuş . Müze kent tarihini iyi anlatıyor.
 The contributions to the War of Independence in Kastamonu in the middle of the park arrangement was excellent. The museum tells the history of the city well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Çevresindeki 19. yy. anıtsal kamu yapılarıyla birlikte geçmişe ait bir doku oluşturan yapı, 1902 yılında ulusal mimari yapının kurucularından Mimar Vedat Tek tarafından yapılmıştır. Zemin üstüne 2 kat olarak yapılan bina, stil açısından batı klasizmi ile dış duvar süslemeleri ve pencere şekillerindeki Osmanlı oryantalizminin bir eklektizmini taşımaktadır. Yapı 110 senedir hem işlevini değiştirmeden hem de ciddi anlamda bir restorasyon geçirmeksizin günümüzde Kastamonu ile özdeşleşen sambollerden biri olarak varlığını sürdürmektedir.
The surrounding 19th century. The building, which creates a historical texture with the monumental public buildings, was built in 1902 by Architect Vedat Tek, one of the founders of the national architectural structure. The building, built as 2 floors above the ground, carries an eclecticism of western classicism in terms of style and Ottoman orientalism in exterior wall decorations and window shapes. The building continues its existence for 110 years as one of the sambots identified with Kastamonu today, without changing its function or undergoing a serious restoration.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kent Müzesi, jandarmanın bulunduğu yerde tabelası olduğu halde böyle bir müze artık bulunmuyor. Jandarmaya sorduğumuzda arkeoloji müzesine yönlendiriyor :)
Although the City Museum has a sign in the place where the gendarmerie is located, there is no such museum anymore. When we ask the gendarmerie, he directs it to the archeology museum :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mutlaka görmelisiniz. Çok eski bir eser ve içinde aşevi olması bize atalarımızın ne kadar iyilik sever insanlar olduğunu hatırlatıyor. Aynı yerde camii türbe hamam ve el işi eserlerin yapıldığı mekan var.
You must see. It is a very old work and the soup kitchen in it reminds us how good our ancestors are. In the same place, there is a mosque, a mausoleum, a bath and a place where handicrafts are made.

Müzenin tek ziyaretçisi bizdik ve müzenin küratörü tüm sergileri gezdi ve önemli bilgi birikimini bizlerle paylaştı. Müzenin düzenini takip etmek kolaydır ve şehrin ve bölgenin zengin tarihi için gerçek bir deneyim yaşarsınız.Müzenin konumu çok merkezidir ve şehrin muhteşem manzarasına sahip saat kulesine yürüyerek ve ayrıca arkeoloji müzesine. Müzeyi ve Kastamonu ilçesini şiddetle tavsiye ederim.
The City History Museum is located on Independence Square in Kastamonu, next to the beautiful statue describing the War of Independence in Turkey. We were the only visitors to the museum and the curator of the museum toured all the exhibits and shared his important knowledge with us. The layout of the museum is easy to follow and you get a real experience for the rich history of the city and the area. The location of the museum is very central and you can walk to the clock tower with amazing views of the city and also to the archaeological museum. I highly recommend the museum and Kastamonu district.

Müzede, Kastamonu yakın tarihine ilişkin arşiv fotoğraflar, ve 1904 yılında Anadolu'da üretilen ilk el yapımı konsol piyano ile yine Kastamonu'da dokunmuş 1907 tarihli 40 metrekare halı gibi ünik eserlerde sergilenmekte.
Kastamonu City History Museum, which was opened in 2002, is located under the Kastamonu Government Office. Archival photographs of the recent history of Kastamonu, and unique works such as the first handmade console piano produced in Anatolia in 1904 and a 40 square meter carpet dated 1907 woven in Kastamonu are exhibited in the museum.

Müze koleksiyonu çok geniş olmasa da, Kastamonu tarihini ve kültürünü anlatan içerikler teknoloji ile desteklenerek çok keyifli bir ortam oluşturulmuş. Sezon dışı sakin bir zamanda gittiğimiz için, müze sorumlusu Sn.Murat Karasalihoglu ile tanışma ve sohbet etme fırsatımız oldu. Müzeye verdiği emekler ve bizimle paylaştığı güzel bilgiler için çok teşekkür ederiz.

The newly restored museum, located on the lowest floor of Kastamonu Governor's Office (Historical government mansion). It's only open on weekdays.
Although the museum collection is not very large, the contents describing the history and culture of Kastamonu are supported by technology, creating a very enjoyable environment. Since we went in a quiet time out of season, we had the opportunity to meet and chat with the museum manager, Mr. Murat Karasalihoglu. Thank you very much for the effort you put into the museum and the good information you shared with us.
