★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Should you ever have the fortune to pass through the beautiful and beguiling city of Mardin, do yourself a favour and stop off for refreshments at this little shop run by the ever gracious Kemal.
Kemal has a small but delicious menu featuring (in summer): homemade Suryani Șerbeti (a delicious concoction of purple basil, mint, lemon, cardamom and a whole host of other things), homemade potato or cheese gözleme (Turkish pancakes that are filled and folded), walnut and pistachio baklava and an array of soft drinks.
We stopped at Kemal's place almost every day of our week long stay in Mardin and he was always so kind, welcoming and generous. Go! You won't regret it!
