★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very atmospheric and eerie place, fascinating to get a glimpse into peoples lives - find the house museum at the bottom of the village.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's quiet and important to visit and reflect about what happened here in the 1920's.
Greeks were deparoted back to Greece having lived here for centuries.
Sure, the Greeks did the same.
Mankind some how finds any excuse to cause division, insite hate and intolerance.
If only we would live in harmony with each other and our enviormnent too.
This place ought to be visited as it's deserted and yet the spirits of the deported Greeks lives on.
Make peace not war. Live in harmony is the mantra to chant as you walk up the hill to dramatic views of the sea at Oludenis and surrounding countryside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice historical location for a visit, easily acessible by the Karakoy bus from hirasonu or ovacik every 30 minutes.
We were met by a local who handed us a free copy of a map of the area, and a rough starting point to begin our walk.
The village is on a steep hillside, and the climb is slippery so please ensure you are wearing sensible footwear. I would not recommend going too far if you struggle with walking but nevertheless it is worth going for the views.
There are paths to walk to Oludeniz and Ovacik for those more adventurous, although we did not use them!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This abandoned village is worth seeing when in Fethiye. Better take a minibus there. I tried walking to Kayaköy. At some point all red&white signs and yellow arrow signs stopped. I walked for 13km instead 9km, obviously in a slightly wrong direction, because I didn't find any ghost towns. Next time I took a minibus. The village was abandoned even by tourists in November. I was there alone, walked along the old paths among the delapidated houses. Interesting place.
