Truly amazing place. Should go

Well worth a visit, steep in places, wear decent trainers/shoes. Go say hello to the old lady selling wares on 1st entrance, Fatma Ana, great English kind chatty lady, watch her hand make pancakes for you.

This place is very nice indeed and it is bigger than I expected. You can wonder for about 2-3 hours. We have enjoyed the beautiful views from the top ( tower). It is highly recommended that you use trail shoes. There is an entrance fee, but it was not very expensive (25 TRY for two persons). You can wonder as long as you like and you can exit the town at any point, it is not mandatory to return at the same entrance. There are a few places where you can eat and drink after you visit Kayakoy. There are a few parking spots because the road is narrow. You should have water with you and sungalsses and maybe a hat if you visit it on a sunny day because there are only a few places where you can find a little shaddow.

So, ever wanted to see a deserted village being slowly reclaimed by nature? Look no further. Look up the history prior as no information boards, pack water if going in the summer, take your camera, suncream and hats and wear trainers. Maybe even read the book 'Birds without Wings' prior to going too (the village features, but under a different name). Explore the village, slowly. The church was closed for safety reasons, which was a real shame, and take loads of pics. The views from the top were well worth the climb. Not suitable for pushchairs (except at the very bottom) and those unsure on their feet. A few cafes at the bottom for refreshments afterwards. Parking will get tight in tourist season.

old village of history, amazing views.

We enjoyed our visit and walk around tis old Greek town. We found it to be interesting, took lot of photos. If I remember correctly I think the entrance cost was 12.5 TL, very inexpensive. I looking for something to do I would recommend in saying that if you miss it your not missing that much. It is steep walking, just a heads up. 3btraveler
