★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Is on Turkey's UNESCO tentative list and is easy to understand why. It covers and extensive area (although the amphitheater is quite small) and it has many well conserved sights. The entrance fee was 14 tl. It can also be visited by taking a boat trip from the nearby city of Dalyan. Or you can simply get there on foot, by crossing the river with the ferry (5tl for pedestrians).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An ancient town easily reachable from both Marmaris and Fethie. Ancient theatre with some other ruins and very beautiful vews. Also there are lycian rock tombs just a couple kilometres away. I crossed to Kaunos by ferry, then walked across orange orchards to the tombs . The entrance was closed but you can see them from the road and the walk was lovely anyway.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kaunos - one of the most memorable and worth to see things in Dalyan, Turkey, especially if you like to feel touch of history
For a small entrance fee you be able to see the beautiful antic historical place (date back till the 10th century BC)
When you climb on top of the mountain the amazing view will catch your eye! Dried out territory, which once was a sea, the sea far away now and antic ruins of amphitheater and old city, which was powerful and strong back in a days - amazing and monumental

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Expression of the ancient beauty, cheap boat (7.5tl return) and entry (14tl). Coming here in early morning of march, when weather is not hot and tourists are still sleeping, has such a charming mood. Be prepared to walk, fron the last tea garden to the entry you'll take 20 minutes. Entry path is bad maintained and it makes you more into history. Spend at least 2 hours, admire the lagoon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Flooded ruins ☔⛈️?
Got to walk around this ancient city which was sadly flooded pretty hard down in the lower levels of the site... ?
Some serious torrential rains came through this area a few days before we did and gave some life-giving H2O to the plant life as well as these ruins ???♂️
Super cool amphitheater with trees growing out of the seats. Beautiful Roman arches coming out of the council house. Also they had a really cool round podium that was used to keep track of the days of the year on the lunar calendar apparently ?
Fantastic lil spot to spend the afternoon walking around and exploring ???

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited in late August 2021. Took ferry (with car - 23TL each way) from Dalyan ferribot and then drove the 1.5km to the site. You can also drive around (90 mins), or go as a foot passenger. Not much parking but enough. Wear trainers. Small shop inside if want to buy drinks/snacks. Enough shade if hot. Allow about 90 mins to explore. A few information boards in English too. Great photo opportunities. You get a real sense of antiquity.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place the history of this place is great the stones are still standing as well as the other ruins. It can get very hot as the place is very open so would advise plenty of water and a hat.
