★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saat kulesinin alt taraflarında bir yamaç üzerine kurulmuş bulunan valilik binası tam anlamıyla bir şaheser biblo gibi geç karşısına seyret, bizde öyle yaptık uzun uzun karşısından seyrettik çok güzeldi. Cumhuriyet meydanıda çok güzel düzenlenmişti ve ve bu güzellik Şerife Bacı anıtı ile taçlandırılmıştı.Şunu rahatlıkla söyliyebilirimki son yıllarda gördüğüm en güzel anıt ve meydan düzenlemesi idi . Emeği geçen herkesin ellerine sağlık. Bu meydanın en güzel taraflarından biriside edebiyat dünyamızın en güzel eserlerinden birisini yazmış olan RIFAT ILGAZ `ın okuduğu Abdurrahman paşa lisesinin bu meydana bakması ,belkide HABABAM sınıfı bu lisenin sıralarında oluştu kim bilir.....kadirşinast kastamonulular bu lisenin hemen biraz yanında ayrıca bir Rıfat Ilgaz lisesi kurarak bu değerli yazara sahip çıktıklarını göstermişler onları gönülden kutluyorum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gördüğüm en düzenli ve anlamlı şehir meydanlarından biri. Şehitlerimizin künyelerinin yer aldığı "Vatan Size Minnettar" ağacı ve anıtlar çok etkileyici. Ayrıca otobüs duraklarının zerafeti büyüleyici, şehrin en hayran kaldığım detaylarından biri oldu.

Türkiye'nin en güzel üç meydanından birisi olarak gösterilmiştir. İçinde bulunan Şerife Bacı, Kurutuluş Savaşı’nda İnebolu’dan Kastamonu ’ya cephane taşıyan kahraman Türk kadınını temsil etmektedir. Şerife Bacı 1921 yılının çetin kış şartlarının hüküm sürdüğü aralık ayında sırtında çocuğu, önünde kağnısı ile kışla önüne kadar gelmiş, mermileri ve çocuğunu korumak uğruna donarak şehit olmuştur.Kurtuluş Savaşı yıllarında gönüllü kadın erkek birçok kişi İnebolu-Ankara lojistik hattında cephane ve mühimmat taşıyarak milli mücadeleye destek vermiştir. Verdikleri destekler sayesinde savaşın kaderi önemli ölçüde değişmiştir. Şerife Bacı da bu gönüllü kahramanlardan biridir. Onun ve diğer gönüllü kahramanların adını yaşatmak üzere Prof. Dr. Tankut Öktem tarafından 1990 yılında Cumhuriyet Meydanı'na Kastamonu Türk Kadınları Anıtı olarak da bilinen Atatürk ve Şehit Şerife Bacı Anıtı'nı yapılmıştır
