Amazing history to a village that got abandoned due to the population exchange in 1923. You can see a huge village used to live here. Feel this is a must see if you are in the area. Entrance was 21TL for 3 pax, child went free.

Interesting old big greek village, a lot of buildings in good condition, especially the church. And very hard but spectacular road through mountains and forest with amazing sea views, it took 2.5 hours from Oludeniz by foots. Back to Oludeniz we wdnt by bus, 10-15 mins.

Very unusual attraction, but definitely add it to the list. An entire town completely deserted, loads of old buildings to explore. There isn't any real tourist information (bit of a let down) or much of a path to follow, so get in the know before you get there and make sure you wear some decent footwear as my flip-flops took a hammering! 10LR entry fee. A short taxi from hisaronu Dolmus bus is available from either Fethiye or hisaronu but its not very regular. (we waited ages and ended up just getting a taxi)

The town of Kayaköy was abandoned since 1923. Due to Population exchange between Greece and Turkey. As the Greek Orthodox Christians left for good the Muslim region of Anatolia. Hundreds of absndoned houses were slowly dilapidated. Its a sad lesson that must be learned here.

Ghost village! Kayaköy, anciently known in Greek as Karmilissos, shortened to Lebessos and pronounced in Modern Greek as Livissi, is presently a village 8 km south of Fethiye in southwestern Turkey in the old Lycia province. Wikipedia

Great few hours spent at the somewhat bizarre abandoned city. Easy to get a bus to and from Fethiye to the site.

Great place to wonder around and just imagine what it used to be like when it was a fully lived in town. It's in such a lovely location with great views over the surrounding valley.
