★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The dome covering the central courtyard of the building, which is located opposite Kemaliye Madrasah (Not existing now) at the foot of the hill of Alaeddin, is distinguished from other madrasahs in terms of richness and delicacy in tile decoration. The architect whose unknown work was planned in accordance with the domed madrasah scheme of its courtyard and according to the inscription of Tac kapı (Gantry door) was built in 649 (1251) years. It was built by Jelal ed din Karatay during the reign of izzeddin Keykavus. It is understood from the sources that the madrasah had an important place in the cultural life of Konya during the Seljuk period and that the dervishes and the jurists of the Mawlana Jalal al -Din al-Rumi era were a meeting and meeting place. XIX. The building, which was abandoned at the end of the 19th century, was restored in 1954 and reused as a section of the Tile Works of the Konya Museum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fine arts and ceramics again. This small but very cute museum is definitely worth to see. Unimaginable how developed they even were to their time in building canalizations. Which is not maintained nowadays in present Turkey.
They should take an example of their ancestors. There are no doubts that ancient civilisations were more developed then we thought they should be. But is the human being taking a step back?
We don't respect our nature and destroy everything we should save and preserve.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karatay Madrasa is a madrasa (a school with a frequently but not absolutely religious focus) built in Konya, Turkey, in 1251 by the Emir of the city Celaleddin Karatay, serving the Seljuk sultan...Amazing old school with colorful mosaics..
