A nice museum designed in reverse. Although there are not many artifacts, there are still remarkable artifacts for a mound.

The construction of the museum, which began in 2008 with the exemplary cooperation of the Japanese and Turkish governments to display the artifacts from the Kaman-Kalehöyük excavations, was completed in March 2009 and opened by Old Prince Tomohito and the Turkish Minister of Culture Tourism, Mr. Ertuğrul Günay, as part of the events of the Japanese Year 2010 in Turkey.
The museum's architectural project was inspired by Kalehöyük's own shape and designed like a hill under excavation. The architecture of the museum has been designed with an approach that allows visitors to see the excavation methods and the artifacts unearthed at the same time. The museum, which has a unique architectural structure, has a closed area of 1500 square meters. In addition to the 470 square meter exhibition hall, there is an 830 square meter open exhibition space.
We were thrilled - because immediately before we visited the ongoing excavations on the Kalehöyük hill and were able to visit the historical layers and their artifacts in great detail. We only regretted that Yassıhöyük hill is not an option for archaeological tourists to visit.
We visited the museum on August 16, 2021 and mentioned it in the "Travel Report Kırşehir Part 77" and described it as recommendable.

You can dominate the historical process from the Assyrian Period to the Ottoman Period by closely examining the works in this museum. There are also artifacts from the Roman Period. You also have the chance to see tombstones and Islamic motifs and coins from the Seljuk Period. On the upper floor, besides the ethnographic works, there are works related to the Ahi order. Among these works; There are showcases with the title of Ahi Evran, the sanjak of the Akhism and genealogy. Of course, there is also a carpet corner in the city, which is famous for its carpet business.

The museum is in an unexpected place and is home to unexpectedly valuable works. There is an institute next to the museum and a Japanese garden in its courtyard. The Japanese garden is literally not spoken, gardeners come from Japan, the trees are from there, the fish are from there. The garden is closed in winter and opens on April 1. The museum works seasonally. The museum has an interesting design in the shape of a mound, it is as if you are walking into the mound. The actual mound is by the main road and is a professional excavation site.
