Rude owner, pompous and arrogant, we arrived late because of bad weather and were refused even a small appetizer and a drink until we could dry off and find another option. Could careless how old and famous this place is, bad karma. Place next door was open and delicious and super friendly service . ,

This is the best restaurant in Ankara if you want to eat seafood. It's a small, place. If you care about flavor, make sure you try it. Closed on Monday, must make a reservation

One of the best fish and meze place in Ankara. I have visited Kalbur on my birthday with my wife and we only had mezra, salad and rakı. Meaning I can not comment on fish. The mezes though, were great. Definitely the best deniz börülcesi I've ever had. Deniz börülcesi is salicarnia and it's served cold and has plenty of garlic. Heavenly! Maybe a bit smelly Heavenly, but totally worth it. Also had grilled squid, again extremely delicious and fresh Salad was good too. I'm not a salad guy btw.

The food is way overrated, customers are mistreated and the atmosphere is unpleasant. People like this place because it makes them believe they are eating something special that is hard to get. In reality, every other above-average fish restaurant in Ankara serves similar quality food with much better service and ambience. Don’t fall into the “soup nazi” trap!

Michelin yildizim olsa verirdim. Remember, you may as well get grumpy when old, just chill, deflate your ego and enjoy the food. If you are looking for love and affection from old people, buy some gifts and visit a nursing home.

Excellent fish-meze-raki place situated at a most unlikely, unpresuming spot. The owner is somewhat (in)famous for being a grumpy old fellow and you are warned beforehand not to rub him on the wrong side and that he gets particularly mad if you get carried away and order more than you can eat and leave food on your plate -well, I say fair enough because, the food is just too good to be wasted. Nothing is overdone. Everything we tried was delicate and top notch. I haven't had such a well done 'topik' for a long time. The fish dish for kids would win hearts of moms around the world:) Bite-size fish, fried so it is succulent inside and crisp outside. My boy devoured it with such relish I was beside myself with joy. We had grilled baby artichokes on a skewer, eggplant stuffed with cheese and fish pastrami, fish manti/ravioli and we enjoyed every single morsel. The service was great. The so-called grumpy old man himself waited on his customers with care and attentiveness was very child-friendly and made sure people were happy. This is a must-go place.
