“It was built as a Gendarmerie Department in the time of Governor Resit Akif Pasha in 1908. ı The plan of the Gendarmerie Building extending in the west and north directions is“ L ”. The corner where the two arms meet is the center of gravity of the structure. In this corner, the structure is arranged as three floors. There is only one place on the third floor. On the second floor, two spaces were added to each side. On the ground floor, the arms extend as single storey and multi-room. Structure; in the corner where the arms intersect, they are arranged octagonal, and the rooms on all three floors are made in accordance with this plan. The main entrance is in the south direction of the octagon. Due to the slope of the land, the building was reached by a stone staircase, which was later closed. Today the building is accessed through the door on the inside of the corner. There is a construction inscription on the pediment of the section which can be called an octagonal planned corner tower.

Sivas Gendarmerie building is one of the buildings I like the most in Sivas. One of the structures that completed the image of the historical square. The part with its arch structure used today as a showcase draws a special attention.
