Inozu Valley - Inozu Valley

Inözü Valley, located in the north of Beypazarı, has a very rich appearance with its natural vegetation and cultural remains. It is a narrow valley formed by the erosion of the İnözü Stream, which is very steep on both sides and rises on a fish ridge. There are many caves on both sides of this valley, which are carved into cliffs that are very difficult to climb, and the western slopes have a multi-storey appearance. Since some of the caves on the steep eastern and western slopes of the valley are located at very high altitudes, it is not possible to visit them. It is understood that these caves were built in ancient times and were used as dwellings. These caves, for which no archaeological research has yet been carried out, are separated from each other by rock walls and open to the valley with their large windows. Remains of stone walls can be seen on the outer surface of the caves in the lower part. The presence of prominent wooden structures here is understandable. Traces of plaster were found on the inner surfaces of the caves. It is also thought that the cavities on the slopes of the slopes that can be seen were arranged as tomb monuments and rock churches where rituals from the early Byzantine Period were held. The rock tombs and rock churches within the scope of the Law No. 2863 on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Assets are included in the scope of protection, while the vineyards on the valley floor are included in the scope of protection.
