One of the worst restaurants that I visited, because of the staff. They are trying to stole your money by changing price in the menu or not informing you the price and at the end you will be shocked when the will provide the bill

I have been visiting Turkey for 17 years and have been many many times and I am truly disappointed with this restaurant. I visited last week and In all honesty I feel as if we were ripped off. Our choice originally was to go to the restaurant next door but when we just looked at this one's menu we were stupidly charmed in and had fallen for the talk about the best food in Turkey...Our mezes were boring and did not come with any type of Turkish bread to dip .instead only 1 small cold piece of something that resembled a chapati...Our main which was recommended to us came in a clay pit and was supposed to be accompanied with apple potatoes and rice.. Instead it came with cold chips and 2 of the tiniest mounds of cold rice I have seen..The clay pot which by the way took 45 mins to arrive consisted of tasteless, unseasoned tough tiny pieces of chicken in a tasteless tomato sauce with a few green peppers thrown in and I'm sure I spotted a piece of onion...This apparently was their traditional popular turkish dish...it was so bad I didn't eat it..The table next to us which consisted of 6 Turkish people had a tray of about 20 different mezes bought to their table to choose from which didn't happen to us...The Turkish food here in London has far superior flavour and quality...Would I recommend you eat here ? NO most definitely not but I do recommend that you Google and read reviews about where you do go..which I wish we had done..I feel that this restaurant is in the habit of overcharging tourists and they serve tasteless food and laugh about it when you leave...The setting of the restaurant is nice...the food is terrible and I have eaten a lot of Turkish food over the years...Spend your money elsewhere..don't be taken in by the talk from the manager only for him never to approach you again once inside..

We were in Bodrum for a wedding and on our penultimate night were recommended Harem Restaurant by friends to come for some great food and we were not disappointed. The lobster and clay pot with lamb and meat were amazing, along with great service and lots to drink we left feeling very fulfilled. For a group of 14 people to come away with paying under £50 per head we could not have asked for more from Bodrum. Thank you to the staff at Harem.

Great restaurant in a lovely position along the harbourfront in Bodrum. We had a delicious selection of very fresh seafood including the biggest prawns I've ever seen, octopus and grouper. All cooked to perfection and with a lovely mezze plate to start. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is because of the price. We probably should have checked with the manager what the price of the whole grouper and octopus was before we ordered it as the bill came to £200 for 3 - not what we were expecting in Turkey at all! It was also much, much more than what we paid for dinner that night for 4 people at a spectacular restaurant around the corner from Harem. Definitely recommended but don't be silly like us and ask for the prices first.

Good taste but I don't like being fooled The place is nice, the food is good, the service ok. But if you get something off the menu do yourself a favor and ask the prices OF EVERYTHING and it has to be clear. The prices on the menu were not cheap but ok, the waiter suggested us a mixed fish grill "for a cheap price“ off the menu. The fish was well cooked and tasty. But with the check comes the surprise … and not a good one. I don’t mind paying the right amount for a quality product, but I do mind being fooled !

Visited Harem restaurant on the 04.09.2019 at around 7pm. We chose it as it had both meat and fish/seafood on the menu and the prices were reasonable. It was not busy when we sat down but started filling up around 8ish. The service was prompt and the food was warmish when they brought it over. We had the fried calamari, grilled octopus, grilled chicken fillet, a mixed salad and a mixed meze compiling only of dips. I also ordered raki but asked if they had without aniseed and they replied positively. My partner had tropicana juice. Let's start with the food. Chicken was tender but with no flavour to it. It was supposed to be served with veg and rice but it came with rice and fries. No complaints there. The calamari was from frozen so that ruined the taste but its rare that you get fresh calamari anywhere these days. The octopus was fine. The bread was stale and felt it was reheated. Salad was fine and dips meze was quite good. Now, although the waiter promised the raki was without aniseed, it smelled like sambuca. Called the waiter over and he promised it was without. Suffice to say, I returned the bottle and got an Efes instead. My bad on this one though, because raki is only made with aniseed so should have known better. Overall, the food was edible. Should you visit it? There may be better choices by walking around the port and some of them are right next to the sea. We paid 276 Turkish lira for the above.

Really great restaurant for spending time with your couple. The food tastes good, meat and seafood are delicious. 5 star personal, always careful and attentive.
