Seen as a poor cousin to the Zeugma mosaic museum but packed with treasures from ancient history. Engravings, Roman statues, archaeological finds from Mt Nemrut and pre historical human burial sites, this friendly museum is more than worth a couple of hours of your time when visiting Gaziantep.

A unique collection and an amazing exhibition. In comparison to other museums, Gaziantep Archaeology Museum is less visited, however I can say that it is one of the best museums in Antep. It is possible to see various artifacts from different eras and empires such as Neolithic, Calcolotich, Hittite, Roman, Hellenistic, Ottoman and such. Be ready to spare at least 2 hours if you want to visit this museum properly. At the beginning of the exhibition, there is also an elaborate section of the region's natural history, which gives you a detailed overall image. Be aware that the museum closes at 5 pm and the ticket office closes at 4.30 pm.

Brilliant museum and a tiny entry fee. Absolutely a must see in Gaziantep. Huge array of artefacts covering the area from palaeolithic to Turkish times, but especially good for bronze Age and Hittites. Very well exhibited with lots of information, generally well translated into English. Some of the items are really quite astounding. Worth at least an hour but I took two. Good little museum shop with ultra cheap prices as well.

Another beautiful museum that is worth a visit during your travels. I took my time and explored it for a few hours. They turned on one wonderful video presentation for me, but the cinema and cafe were closed most likely due to Covid-19. It costs 10 Turkish Lira per person with well translated and detailed information about the seemingly endless exhibits. It really brought my childhood dreams of Mesopotamia into the light.

Pretty standard archeology museum, nothing too extraordinary or special. Still worth a visit if you're passing by.

Fantastic museum to learn more about the amazing history of this region. The collection includes Palaeolithic artifacts; items from a Bronze Age necropolis; Hittite, Persian, Roman, Hellenistic, and Commagene artworks and the skeleton of a mammoth.
