Gamali Kofteci is nice little restaurant situated in the middle of the central park in Kusadasi, nestled in between the other eateries on the right-hand side of the park as you approach from the main bus stop. It is a traditional Turkish restaurant, so be aware that you won't find any 'tourist food' here - only traditional, fresh prepared Turkish food such as Adana kebabs, grilled meatballs, pide (Turkish pizza) and other delicious dishes served in a comfortable outdoor setting. All meals come with a complimentary Anatolian bread and small meze of tomato, crumbled cheese and butter served on a separate dish. Their sense of humour showed when the bread came to the table having been freshly prepared only minutes earlier, and it literally took up the length of the table - across four plates! The food is delicious, well prepared and is a prime example of clean cooking, and the service was above standard. The staff didn't bother you too much, but that felt more out of a sense of awkwardness than anything else, but they all speak good English and are efficient and pleasant to deal with. Don't expect to be asked if you would like a follow up drink after your meal, but if you do order any Turkish tea or coffee to compliment your evening, just watch out for the Turkish coffee - freshly prepared and can only be described as jet fuel!

Fantastic place for lunch, just a few seconds away from the main shopping streets where similar restaurants charge substantially more. It has a large amount of outdoor seating, plenty of which are shaded by the surrounding trees. With generous portions and great service, I highly recommend this restaurant.
