Located in the city center of Oltu, dominating the city. The castle, which is located in the south of the Oltu Stream and remains within the city today, was built on a passage that is extremely suitable for defense. For this reason, the outer castle was completely destroyed due to the destruction of various tribes who wanted to own this place for centuries, and only the inner castle has survived to the present day. The castle is made of regular cut stones and its door opens to the qibla. There are two big bastions on the north side, and there is a tomb in the left bastion. The walls of the outer fortress surrounded a very large area. However, these walls were destroyed due to various negligence, only the ruins of the Seljuk Baths remained outside the castle.

The castle is certainly interesting looking from the right vantage point, though the area around it is full of rather unfortunate looking cafes and garbage. The castle is closed though, according to the sign it is open on Fridays.

Very rich history, also recommend to see 'Nene Hatun' in Erzurum.
