Dere yatağından kalenin olduğu üst kısmına kadar uzanan ve bir insanın geçebileceği ölçülerde geçit olduğu, bu geçidin ise Ferhat'ın Şirin'e ulaşmak için deldiği geçit olduğu inancı yörede hakimdir. Bu geçidin bir kısmı Deriner Barajının suları altında kalmış.
It is said that the legend of "Ferhat and Şirin" passed by the local people and the name of the castle dates back to the 5th century. Built on high rock. It is believed that there is a passage that extends from the creek bed to the upper part of the castle and that a person can pass through, and that this passage is the passage through which Ferhat pierced to reach Şirin. Part of this passage was flooded by Deriner Dam.
