★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Okul, Kahramanmaraş Ortaokulu olarak işlevini sürdürürken 1988 yılında lise bölümü ilave edildi. 1993 yılına kadar ortaokul ve lise olarak Abarabaşı denilen mahallede öğretimini sürdürdü. 11 şubat 1993 tarihinde zamanın Başbakan Sn. Süleyman DEMİREL tarafından hizmete açılan şu anki hizmet binasına taşındı. Daha sonra ortaokul bölümü liseden ayrılarak müstakil lise haline geldi. 1995-1996 eğitim- öğretim yılında okula yabancı dil ağırlıklı lise bölümüde açıldı. 2011-2012 eğitim öğretim yılında ise Anadolu lisesine dönüştürüldü.
While the school functioned as Kahramanmaraş Secondary School, high school department was added in 1988.
