★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Eynesil'in bilinen tarihi İsa'dan önce 1500 yıllarına kadar dayanmaktadır. Bu dönemde Büyük Hitit İmparatorluğu egemenliğinde olan Eynesil, 300 yıl kadar bu imparatorluğun yönetiminde kaldıktan sonra I.Ö. 1200 yıllarında Phrygia Konfederasyonu emrine girmiştir.
Yunanlıların yöreye gelişleri I.Ö. 756 yılına kadar dayanmaktadır. Yunanlılar dan sonra I.Ö. 670 yılında yöre Miletoslular’la tanışmıştır. Miletoslular Eynesil'in de içinde yer aldığı Karadeniz kıyılarında 90 civarında ticaret kolonisi kurmuştur. Eynesil'de ki metruk ve büyük bir bölümü yıkılmış olan kalenin de, (Görele Kalesi) ilk olarak bu dönemde inşa edildiği sanılıyor.
