★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a bit disappointed by the lack of colour and Islamic patterns, especially on the ceilings and walls. Also, there was no clear signage with the name and year of construction near the entrance. I found an information board inside, but it was only Turkish. The minbar and lectern(?) have intricate timber carvings and designs - very nice.

There is something about this mosque that I was so overwhelmed with emotion about the history that must be hidden within the bare walls.
Even though there is no Islamic decorations on the ceilings etc. Feels incredibly serene.
