Ephesus Tour Guide

Denizhan's knowledge of Turkey and of ancient Christian and Islamic history was so informative. He brought to life for us the once thriving city of Ephesus.We loved our visit to the charming village of Sirince, where we eat lunch with the local people. It's clear that Denizhan loves his country and is a scholar of its history. Thoroughly recommend taking the tour if you or your ship are ever in the area.

Great tour of the ancient city of Ephesus (including Terrace houses... DEFINITELY want to spring for that), the Basilica of St. John (including where he was once buried), and what is believed by many to be the House of St. Mary, where she and St. John lived for the last nine years of her life. I came alone to İzmir/Kuşadası with only a few days notice, and after a really simple arrangement over Whatsapp, Denizhan personally drove me around and gave me a ton of history about these sites. Price was more than reasonable. This was half historical interest/half personal pilgrimage for me (Anglican priest), and Denizhan was really flexible; I appreciate his ability to tailor this last minute trip to my two different interests for visiting the city. We were able to engage in dialogue about the history and significance of the events, but he also gave me plenty of time to stop, pray, and take pictures whenever we came across something meaningful to me... namely, the location of shops (where St. Paul may have had his tent making business while staying there), the theater where Paul was the subject of an uprising, and of course, the former burial place of St. John. I hope to come to Turkey again with friends, and when I do, I hope to be able to take this tour again with others. Thank you Denizhan!
