It's very well preserved indeed.. it also happens to be one of the most photographed places in Turkey.. Be sure to take your hats and water as you will have to tread for 2km each way, but it does not feel that long as you have lots of things to admire along the way

Not so crowded on January, and it was winter so the weather is not so hot. Come in with group of tour and I don't have enough interest to see the Byzantium ruins and its history. But for those who like to see the marble ruins and the history if its greatness may enjoy the visit.

Amazing ancient city! Absolutely must when in Turkey. I would recommend spending solid 4-5 hours in the area. We walked from the city center through back roads. At first it felt like a bad idea, but as soon as we got on the backroad trails we felt like we got transported into the ancient times. Olives, figs, pomegranates and almonds tress everywhere leading to the main archeological site. The main site is very well preserved. Just impressive! Bring comfortable shoes and just enjoy walking through the history.

Beautiful and must see place. We spend about 5 hours in total, we bought the muti-pass ticket for 200L each that gave us access to the main 4 attractions. We download the Rick Steve walking tour of Ephesus on his app (free to download) we listened to it during our walk around. I can not recommend this enough, that tour was very informative and enjoyable to listen whilst at this site, definitely better than hiring the audio guides or a physical guide.

150TL entrance, but free if you are local with the local museum card. A big site so expect some walking around. The theatre was great but the restored library was breathtaking, just for that it’s worth the entrance fee. It’s a more advertised attraction so there will be a lot more crowd/tourists as well as touristy shops, cafes and restaurant outside the attraction

Amazing place, wear your comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking and steps to do. Absolutely visit the terraced houses as a part of your visit. BTW be prepared to get lots of love and cuddles from the friendly felines. Early morning is best, before the tours arrive. I actually walked in from town instead of taking a car or bus, not a ridiculous journey, about 2.5 miles each way. There is a rough hiking path you can use, or walk the main road.

Wow what an amazing and vast ancient Greek city. Its amazing to try and understand how they lived their lives thousands of years ago and how important these individual theatres, libraries, gates, monuments, fountains, temples and tombs were to their way of life. The scale of the place and the remains structures is amazing as is the detail in the intricate carvings on each of the buildings. Loved my visit.

A must place to go if visiting the area. Try and avoid the summer months as it'll be very hot. Best time to go is Nov - March (for cooler days and less visitors). Pay extra to visit the Terrace Houses exhibition, it is incredible! NB: there are no toilets inside the site, so you need to go before you enter.
