★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice private beach for covered women or any women who would like to freely go to a beach without being stared at by strange men. I really appreciate the efforts in accommodating for women only.
Getting to the beach is a 10 min uphill walk from the main road/village center. As far as I know, there's no shuttle that takes you up to the beach from the main road. So you walk uphill, but once you reach uphill, there is a shuttle that drives you in 2 mins (5 min walk) to the beach. If you need to head back to the main center near the public beach, you walk back down 10 mins. Really didn't see any logic or purpose for the shuttle if it's not going to take me to or from the village center, instead I had to walk back downhill 10 mins. You're lucky if you have a car, because there's an otopark as soon as you reach uphill.
I don't think there's an entrance fee, as I wasn't asked to pay anything when I arrived (it was a weekday).
The beach itself is a little small, so it can get crowded quickly on the weekends or holidays. The view is beautiful. The water, although very clear and clean, was quite shallow. The deepest end until the rope barrier was up to my knees and I'm pretty short. Perfect for taking little kids. There's some areas with algae and rocks, but overall it's all sandy under the water with minimum rocks. So no rocks bothering your feet and no need to wear water shoes or flip flops in the water.
Swimming may not be an option at this beach, since the water is so shallow. If you'd like to swim, the mixed public beach on the other side has a deep end.
You can rent sun chairs and umbrellas, but get there early or they're gone. Or bring your own things.
There's a restaurant where you can order food and drinks or bring your own stuff. You can also charge your phone as there are outlets by the tables, but no wifi.
There are private lounge areas, which I think you have to get there early for or they're also gone. A little uphill is this lovely forest with cute picnic gazebo areas, where you can sit and eat in the shade.
There are changing cabins with showers installed inside, however, no hooks or benches inside any of the stalls to hang or place your belongings. So if you have to change your clothes, either bring a person with you to hold your belongings or good luck if you're on your own!
Also, biggest problem I had was that there was no toilet/WC anywhere- neither in the restaurant nor the changing cabins area. So if you need the toilet, go all the way back to the public beach area/village center, or good luck! Maybe less cabins and more toilets are needed especially since women are bringing their children with them as well. I wish they would consider these things also. If they're going to accommodate, then go all the way- give us every ammenity!! :-)
Also, be aware, the toilets near the public beach, although very clean and fully supplied (soap/water/paper towels), are majority eastern toilets. There's only 1 western toilet, the rest are eastern. If the western one is taken and it's an emergency, then get ready to squat!! :-D
You can easily spend one day here and it's enough. There's a fortress, mosque, and a small village center with fish and pide restaurants, a small organic fruit/veggie market, swim supply stores, a şok market and Bim (for groceries and other goods), a public bus stop and minibuses/taxis are available. About 1.5 hrs away from main Istanbul by public transport.
