A historic old mosque has just been restored

The place of our grandparents ... 2 martyrs of liberation lies in the garden of this mosque. These people came to rescue the maras with the gang of 40 of Mustafa Ağa from the village of torment, and they became martyrs.

Although it seems admirable that the mosque was restored by the General Directorate of Foundations in accordance with its original form, in fact, there is a great waste behind this renovation. The mosque's Quran course, lodging, gasilhane, etc., which was held in the early 2000s. parts of it were destroyed in this restoration. If you were going to wash it, why did you do it?

The mosque in Duraklı Quarter does not have a building inscription. It is understood from the foundation records that it was built by Zülkadirzade Ali Bey in 1806. The mosque, which has been repaired many times, has survived to the present day, partially preserving its original features. Located among the mosques with wooden ceilings, Duraklı Mosque consists of a rectangular planned harim built with rough sculpted stone, a minaret built of cut stone with a single balcony and a madrasa to the east of the courtyard. It is stated that three young people who were martyred in the war of liberation were buried in the tombs located in the west of the courtyard. The stone-paved pool, which we encounter in many of the city's historical mosques and mansions, is also located in the courtyard of the Duraklı Mosque. Duraklı Mosque always opens its doors to those who want to find peace on their journey through the historical neighborhoods of the city.
