They turned the huge dervish lodge into a tiny mosque and opened the buildings for use as a cafe restaurant, contrary to the original. I think in the past the archeology museum opposite was also a part of this place. The historical artifacts in the garden of that place lie on the pavement outside the garden. There is no respect for our own history or world history. Unfortunately, it is no different from the neighborhood mosque.

Right across the Great Mosque ... It is one of the must-see works in Kütahya. It is understood from the Qibla and its pure order that it was not built as a mosque.

I guess because its octagonal dome is not facing the qibla and it was built as an Armenian church. I think it later turned into a Mevlevihane or a lodge. The real name of the place known as Dönenler Mosque in Kütahya is Erguniye Mevlevihanesi. I think that the phrase “returnees tekke” is wrong. Although this place continues to serve as a mosque, it is also a burial place of Ergun Çelebi and his elders. It contains a well whose water is believed to be good for various ailments. According to what I observed during my visit today, after the last restoration work, the place has gained a more compact and bright appearance. The final form of the building, which I think was built by staying loyal to the original architecture, is pleasing. However, the fact that the sarcophagi of the shrines, which are located opposite the entrance in the mosque, were taken down brought the possibility that those who wandered there would be on the tomb. I am of the opinion that this is not ethical considering the Sufi literature. It is one of the must-see places with its history and architecture that reflects the features of the period, I strongly recommend it.
