History of our old mosques ...

Located in the Harmanlar Quarter, on a land inclined to the southeast, the work extends Harmanlar Street to the north and Tilki Street to the south. As a result of the rise in the road levels in the north and west, it has remained at a low level over time. Although it does not have an inscription, there are some opinions about the builder and construction date of the building, which we can date to the end of the 15th century or the beginning of the 16th century. The mosque, which preserved its original form in terms of its plan, was damaged in the 1943 earthquake, underwent minor repairs in various dates317 and finally, it was repaired by the General Directorate of Foundations318 in 1977 and took its current form. The building has a square, cubic body and extends in an "L" plan with the narthex on the north side. Its minaret rises on a pedestal fused with the main walls on the northern edge of the west facade. The harim mass is covered by a single dome placed on an octagonal prismatic rim, consisting of a second tier placed on the cubic body by slightly retracting, approximately üst of the upper part is chamfered at the corners. The last congregation place has a rectangular plan in the east-west direction, but it was designed as a three-part portico with three pointed arches facing north, and is covered with three domes of equal size. The house of the sanctuary is located slightly west of the interior, centered on the axis of the last congregation wall.
