★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Diyarbakır city walls, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage list, are the longest walls in the world after the Chinese wall with a length of approximately 5 thousand meters. It is also the oldest and highest in terms of height, including the Great Wall of China. Its first construction date goes back to the Hurrians civilization in the 2000s B.C. it hosted many civilizations. It took its current form with the Roman in the 6th century. There are reliefs and inscriptions belonging to many civilizations on the walls of Diyarbakır, which has a total of 82 towers. The walls, which are about 10-12 meters high and 3-5 meters wide, were built with very strong, black basalt stones from the Karacadağ volcanic mountain. Diyarbakır, a heavily Kurdish settlement, is one of the places worth seeing with its walls, unique architecture, lively city life, rich history and culture.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These walls are well preserved considering that they were believed to be built sometime between 3000 B.C. and 4000 B.C. This wall is the second longest wall after the Great Wall of China.
