Ancient temple and great place. Masterpiece of Syranian masonry.

This place is the soul of Mesopotamia! The sun temple downstairs is a must see place! 12.000 to 15.000 years ago, before people could even build walls (they were living in caves), their beliefs made them learn and understand about physics: They digged the ground to have the four walls (genius!), but what they did to close the top was beyond amazing: they came up with the idea of key stones, so they were able to build a roof without any kind binder. That place still stands today. And the calm energy (what we call the good vibes nowadays I guess) in the chapel is just wonderful. It doesn't feel like a place where people take their suffering much, or maybe it's cleansed very well by the people who take care of the place. The locals of Mardin talk very highly of Mor Gabriyel, the high priest, and recommend that you go talk to him if you see him. The only downside is that the guide's English was incomprehensible, so you need to read about to place before you go there.

Always religious places are the right place to go and visit When you go there you will have a nice your with a guide that's tells you the story of everything but the bad news is they only knows Turkish The place is very nice architecture wise and the views are perfect especially it's far from the city center and it's on a high level

Very hot during the summer time. Not so good management- have to wait at hot cafe until the group for tour forms. Could be better. Way more better and comfortable.

Must see Orthodox churches from 500 AD. Many Toms and more. The churches are actively open. You can see the baptism rooms in the pictures.

High recommend visiting! There are tour guides in charge of small groups and explain each of the places. But it was Turkish. Beautiful and peaceful place. ??
