The initial experience at Dalton was pleasant. The staff was kind and professional. We chose to take the private tour. Our guide was kind and professional as well. However , towards the end of our tour , an accident took place. My partners horse slipped going up a slope, as it flipped it went under the guides horse, at which time my partner was pulled under and essentially crushed by both horses. Luckily there were no major injuries, but enough that the injuries sustained rendered my partner incapable of walking. Instead of calling for immediate help, our guide pushed for her to get back on the horse to continue forward and kept saying “you’re fine you’re fine.” I had to tell our guide to call for help. Finally the sent a car to pick us up. In moments of distress the guide acted unprofessionally and indifferent to the severity of the situation. It is because of this that I rate them with 2 stars.

Went on a great private guided sunset ride today - 450 TL per person, two people for three hours. The Arabian horses are very well trained and looked after, and plenty strong. We saw spectacular scenery and a beautiful sunset - if I have any regret, it's that we didn't choose the 4 hour ride!

Valley, sceneries and horses are beautiful, but service is so bad. No information about anything, where we are, what is the plan of the Tour and not even a slight smile from stuff. I understand not everyone has to speak English, but in Such a commercial company, it would be much appreciate. It is a mass tourism company, I get that, but small effort to creat great memories wouldn't hurt. It is so sad, because it could be a life time experience, but from organization point of few it was a disaster.

I am a moderately experienced rider, and this is not my first trail ride in a foreign country. We booked the two hour sunset ride. I noticed a few of the horses were a little testy right away. Not abnormal. The horses were well groomed. It was difficult to notice under the saddles, most appeared normal weight to slightly underweight. Not a word was spoken from our guide. I mounted my horse, and nothing was said. No guidance was given on the rising style. (Rare, but there are places that have an English saddle and ride Western style.) I don’t speak Turkish, and that’s fine. But not a single word was said to anyone. The entire group was awkwardly quiet. I noticed the lead and back guide weren’t riding. I’ve never, ever seen this before. Then the issues began when we got to the point it seemed like everyone stopped at- a rider fell off her horse on the way up. (We found out later they were on a four hour tour from the same ranch.) At the top, we saw multiple horses lying down. One which did not get up and the guides were yelling and slapping to get off the ground. We did not stop here, as our horses immediately veered off in all directions. They had no clue who was in the group and they did not keep track of us. My partner and I were in the back. My partner’s horse did not want to follow, so I turned mine around. A different guide from a different group said, “don’t turn your horse around”, and then physically turned my horse around. My partners horse shortly followed, but he ended up trotting off in the opposite direction. I attempted to turn my horse to go after, but she was a trail horse and was adamant about following the back. I’m surprised she didn’t buck me. The guides were completely unaware for a few moments, and I felt helpless to communicate this without a lingua franca. As soon as the guide catches him and brings him back to the group, our horses meet another trail pack head on. The trail is too narrow for them to pass. This causes quite a commotion between the horses- the guides end up turning us around. Somewhere in the midst of this, one of our riders falls off her horse. We lose three riders during this process, and discussed leaving ourselves. Not knowing where we were, with darkness approaching, and rain beginning to fall, it was a difficult option to weigh. We ended up carrying on. Only four of us in the group made it back. The guides ended up riding horses, and guiding three on lead. This also caused an issue with the horses footing at times, due to three horses nearly side by side without much give on the lead. We learned why the guides don’t ride. We didn’t get the full time. Those of us who stayed did not pay full price. We even chose to walk back to the hotel. I am telling myself we paid as much as we did to care for these horses, who seem to be overworked.

Scariest horse back experience of my life. Half the group walked off because one person nearly fell off and one person did fall off and my horse took off on me. The two hour tour lasted maybe 1.5 hours. There was a sunset stop with a fire place that the tour completely skipped and headed back but on the way back ran into another tour group which caused us to turn back around. So with the turn around yelling at each other it probably was an hour ride. Other tours said they had a good experience but ours was a nightmare.

In Cappadocia the tours/guides don’t really explain a lot of things, and it is the same wether it’s air balloons or horse riding. This may bother a lot of people depending on the type of personality you have. For me, I don’t mind. This was my second time em getting on a horse in my life. I recommended this place as I had a great time and the guides are super nice. It is understandable for us to feel like the guides are not very attentive because they ride with many people day after day with no real friendship made. People often just take photos and forget the guides are people with passion too. Again, I recommend this place to ride horse, but I also recommend to get to know the guide and ask questions. It will make the relationship and experience of the ride much more enjoyable. Also, as the guides not explaining a lot of “rules” may surprise you, if you ask questions they are more than happy to help you and explain to you. These are the nicest people I’ve been with ?? Thank you Dalton Brothers and Cihan!

This was unfortunately a stressful experience. We informed of being beginner horse back, but still given a young and easily scared horse. A dog jumped out in the road and my horse stalled, and the whole group of horses were scared and started running. The landscape is amazing, but unfortunately I wasn't able to enjoy it.
