The church, which was used as a prison for a while, is actually the center of attention. Although it is a beautiful building, it needs a good restoration. Of course, people are not afraid when they see the restored places. Today, it was used for painting exhibitions before the pandemic. It is more attentive than its garden. There are no staff and it looks empty inside.

Çeşmeli Church (Surp Asvadzadzin Armenian Church) is in the Tapucak District in the center of Karaman. Tapucak District, one of the oldest neighborhoods of Karaman, is a neighborhood where Armenians and Greeks lived together with Turks before the First World War and the population exchange. In the same area in the neighborhood, it is possible to see the Cesmeli Church from Byzantine architecture, the Yeni Hamam with the Ottoman architecture, the Araboğlu Mosque from the Karamanoğlu architecture, and the historical Turkish, Armenian and Greek houses together. Cesmeli Church is an example of small basilicas found in Binbir Kilise in Montenegro. It is a structure built with three longitudinal cut stones. It belongs to the Byzantine Period. After the Republic Period, it was used as a prison until the 1980s and some additions were made inside it in a way that would not spoil its exterior architecture. Later, the building, which was allocated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was restored in 2007. The church, which is used for artistic events such as post-restoration exhibitions, meeting rooms, and music concerts, is open to visitors.

The Armenian church in Karaman was even used as a prison at the time. Today, it is used as an art gallery.
