Can Restaurant

Food OK but definitely you are not welcome unless you're local. The town is clearly a local town, not many tourist, and the dynamics and interaction are clearly different if you are a foreigner. We asked for 2 sea bass (45TL each), we were suggested to upgrade to a bigger one to share for 60TL each on the basis that it was freshly fished rather than from farm factory, with chips included on the house. The bill showed 140TL for the fish (not 120TL, or 90TL as originally intended). The chips were no where to be seen. Practically ignored, while all tables around us were greeted (including one who had a pizza delivery on the table!). Whispered if we wanted a complimentary tea or coffee, we kindly said no, and just then, almost reluctantly, we were offered the plate of fruit on the house that every single table had been offered before us. Finally asked for the bill in an pretty empty restaurant, twice! Being our second night in town, and having ordered exactly the same in a different restaurant the night before, by comparison: the fish was equally good (despite the "upgrade "), presentation was poorer, service was much worse, and the feeling of welcomed not existed (it did the day before somewhere else). In conclusion: avoid unless you are local.

Fresh, local and very good ! A freshly caught fish selected by myself, some fried calamari and salads, some shade with a view on the port. Good time.

Outstanding!! Everything is uber delicious, location is by the seaside. Staff is quite friendly and helpful. Dont miss the homemade bread and butter with garlic!

This was my second visit to Can restaurant. The mezes were great and this time we had seafood (fried calamari and grilled octopus) - they were delicious....the chef and the staff are very friendly and the service is always good

For a fisherman and also a person that has seabass almost on a weekly basis, this was by far the best seabass I've had in a while! I went there 2 days in a row, the first time i had shrimps cooked in butter and seabass, which were absolutely divine. The seabass was split into half and you can choose the portion. It was very fulfilling. The second day we ordered chicken curry and seabass again, both were super delicious and the prices were good for such location and fresh fish. Highly recommended.

Love this restaurant, it became trafition when in Göcek. Variety of fresh catch- local and farmed fish, octopus, calamari and freshly made dishes by local chef Jumali. This place has been in business for many years, keep their reputation by delivering fresh and tasty local dishes. Staff speaks English well. Instead of white bread u can indulge on whole grain rolls made by chef with your meal. Beautiful presentation,fish prepared to perfection with crispy skin, nice ambience and lights. Well suited for romantic dinner so as family gathering. Last year we placed order for a group for baby lamp roast dinner in advance and it was out of this world!
