Ben buraya 2020 yazında gitmiştim. Güzel olan iki şey vardı. Biri manzara diğeri de Can Bey’in kibarlığı. Yemekler ve servis çok kötüydü.
I went here in the summer of 2020. There were two good things. One is the scenery and the other is Can Bey's kindness. Food and service was very bad.

The coffee was great, yet 25TL for a bottle of water is ridiculous!!

Mr. Can Oba is absolutely a marvelous chief, his place in Yalikavak located at shore, you literally eat on sea!! On our visit there were 5 starters, 3 main courses and 3 deserts all of them was delicious, thank you Mr. Can and I strongly recommend that place to have a fine dining with your family or friends

It is really hard to give 3 stars for this place. Not because it is bad. I thought both the owner and his wife were absolutely fantastic. They were nice and very friendly. The owner is a chef and I can definitely understand the menu's high prices for the food he creates. I have tremendous respect for that. But we were there during the day and there is a fee to use the long chairs (otherwise all beaches in Turkey are public), and this fee is basically applied to the bill when you consume what the restaurant serves. So far so good, many other places employ the same system, and why not? This restaurant didn't have a day menu, we were literally told that, but they told us they accommodate small plates, salads, drinks etc. We did eat and drink throughout the day, and when the bill came, I was shocked. Hence the three stars. You see, I have been in many different beaches throughout Bodrum during our 2-week stay and I saw 33cl beer prices vary between ₺16-₺24 and 50cl beer prices between ₺20-₺28. Tea prices vary between ₺2-₺4. At this location, regardless of brand and amount, all beers were ₺35. About 25 pieces of French fries and 6 small fried sausages were ₺40. The tea was ₺8!!!! Again, I can understand high prices of dishes the chef creates, and I can even grant the high price for the fried potatoes and sausage to some extent. And I can even get on board with the ridiculously high beverage prices as long as there is a transparent approach where I am given a menu and see all the prices before I order. There isn't much that this place offers as opposed to a hotel, literally 200m down the beach to grant the ridiculously high prices. I have reviewed the other location as well (Yuksel Boutique Hostel)

We used to like his restaurant in Istanbul so I was very surprised as the quality has dropped quite a bit. It is trying too hard to be experimental. As a result you are left with very very very sweet food trying to combine strawberries with every seafood in the kitchen (fish, calamari, doesn't matter). In addition, super slow service (he is a one man show in the kitchen) and super hard chairs leaves you frustrated at the end of the evening... Hope Can returns to his more exclusive cooking we liked so much... By the way, in all fairness, the calamari was really good!

I first want to start with a disclaimer: The reason for my disappointment may lie on the fact that this place came with a lot of high praises to me. One of those was that Mr. Oba had previously worked with the likes of Alfons Schuhbeck. I have visited Mr. Shuchbeck's restaurants before, and I don't expect many restaurants in Turkey to live up to those standards. However I do expect the food to at least strive for those standards. That is why I was relatively disappointed with the food. On a side note; I can understand that the staff might be overworked, underpaid or simply tired out. That doesn't mean that they can "throw" the plate in front of customers, while they're trying to move the previous plate to make space (yes, the prev. plates weren't collected in time either). Now, I fully understand that you might have a different experience at a different time. This was however what I have experienced. I also want to emphasize, that the food was in no way bad. It simply didn't live up to the expectations that arose from the context mentioned above.
