On this occasion, I foolishly didn't ask why they weren't using the meter, and was then surprised to hear the fixed cost for driving me just a few km to the Kas Otogar terminal. The young driver wasn't to blame, I don't think, and he did his best to call the owner. I refused to pay the price because it was unreasonable. I still ended up giving more because I didn't have the exact change. If you are going to use this taxi rank, make sure they use the meter, or agree upon the price beforehand. I've never had this problem during my entire Turkish trip, so it's a shame I experienced it here. This isn't Thailand!!
