★ ★ ★ ★ ★ How fortuitous that this large family compound was not damaged over time and that people in Diyarbakir realized the opportunity it afforded them to present their story. It can be a little difficult to find (a few more signs would help) but it is worth the effort. The museum presentation is mostly enthnographic but everything is well presented and signed in Turkish, Kurdish and English. Well worth a visit if you are in Diyarbakir.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the rare example of indigenous Diyarbakır houses. House was built in 1773. the house where the famous poet was born: it was bought by the Ministry of Culture and turned into a museum in 1973. The building consists of 14 rooms, a kitchen, a cellar and a toilet.
Entering through a wooden door and a narrow corridor in the museum house: the famous author has books, handwriting, personal items, photographs and library.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice traditional house owned by a much-loved poet. Interesting architecture. Too bad that none of his poems are in English. Conveniently located right next to the Great Mosque. Entry is free and well-written the time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dear reader,
Last year I visited this place. Nice, quiet, clean and elegant.
It would be great if it had an English translation from there on out all right.
Thank you so much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A turkish patriot who wrote a lots of patriotic poems about his country. He was born and raised in Diyarbakir and later moved to France from where he occassionally visited home. He passed away in France. His house in Diyarbakir was later turned into a museum to exhibit his life's work and successive culture of the people of Diyarbakir. Letters to his mum and others are also on exhibition here. His poems about death was also really inspiring.
