Büyük Abant Hotel

A fantastic location right next to the awesome Abant lake. It’s a very quiet environment and good place to relax. The rooms are ok. You can see the age in some areas but it’s good standard. So don’t expect Hilton quality ?

A 5 star hotel located in a national park,23Tl for cars to get in but reusable ticket for multi entry. The route off major motoway D100 to the hotel is fairly decent. The nature has given its best to this location as is almost everywhere in Turkey but not given the luck to have correct politicians and human quality with the wit this nature wonder deserves. instead,these politicians who are day dreaming new ottoman are busy destroying this nature and planting every other step another 60.000 people capacity mosques that have hardly seen people but few religious fanatics in bid to con the nation in political games. The hotel seems,a bid dated,not have the glorious image of Antalya Hotels. There is no all inclusive board,but as far as I am concerned half board is regular board. Staff is as usually very friendly,but I didn't get the same impression with the back office staff,as they kept telling me that my deposit has not gone through where as I had to make double payment for the same deposit. The food is ok but not exciting as I compare again the ones served at Antalya hotels. The fried up Salmon the fish was no where near? the one my wife cooks at home in oven,golden colour,juicy and melts in the mouth? The salad bar seems monotonous everyday,but fresh and offers good quality variety of green and stuffed pepper,archicoke,leak,mushroom green beans...etc Small stall of again good qualty of Turkish desert range served. The main course meal is also good, so far on my 2nd day there, doner,fried up salmon,Turkish lahmacun,pidë, and variety if meat fish meals,soups served. The hotel has a small swimming pool and gym and massage parlour including Turkish bath and kēsē(dry skin rubbing)served. We enjoyed our Turkish bath and massage experince which we recommend. The walking path laid around the lake is well made with small red pepples and includes a wooden walking path over the lake at some stretches annndd...you are accompanied by lovely local dogs throughout your walk as in the attached photos.They have tags in their ears and are not vicious but we were a bit cautious as we didn't know them. Around the Hotel,you can also visit museums e.g Bolu,Mudurnu which offers wealth of archaeology and history dating back B.C 3000/8000(Woow). 7 lakes area is another must to visit. We also found farmers/villages market up and down the province where local villagers sell their local products very interesting place to visit e.g on Monday you get Bolu farmers/villages market. Live music on Monday to Saturday is another good attraction that is not to miss. Horse riding or horse-drawn cart trips are also available. Of course,we will remember prenses the horse and her devoted owner Burak who helped us enjoy a lovely horse ride. Unfortunately, no boat ride on a lake like this... I was a bit puzzled about ! The Hotel is also well prepared and deal well with Covid-19 pandemic. If Nature and tranquility is your first preference on your holiday then you may try this hotel,otherwise check out Bodrum or Antalya hotels. All the best.⚘❤???

The hotel location is not good comparing to the other hotels. Most of the staff are so aggressive. Few of them are friendly. I have used many 5 stars hotels in different countries, and other cities in Turkey but I never expect that I will have this bad vacation because of my stay at this hotel. The restaurant is good but most of the workers are not friendly at all. Others are so friendly. The location is not great comparing to the hotels we used on our vacation! The King room was big and comfortable for 3 adults and 2 kids. I would not recommend this hotel as 5 stars hotel at all!!! First of all, I used booking.com to book 2 nights for 2 small families and paid via PayPal. When I arrived the receptionist asked us to pay and we tried to find a PayPal receipt even we do not have internet and we can not use the hotel wifi before the check in!!! Then we found that booking.com booked 3 rooms which was too much for us. One of them was already enough since it is a king room (3 big beds, 2 toilets and 3 rooms inside) so we decided to take 2 rooms and explained the situation and the wrong recommend booking from the website and the receptionist said ok, and he understood and he asked us to make cancellation request via booking.com. we just checked in 2 rooms. I contacted booking.com and they made a cancellation request. In the morning we figured out that they made check in for 3 rooms instead of no show for the cancelled room! They started to say many lies to convince us that they did not receive any requests. We talked to booking’s agent and he called them. we even do not have keys or anything for this room! We asked them to see the security cameras and ask all staff who gave us the 2 rooms. They were very aggressive and they do not have any respect to listen or even to stand in face of you when you are talking about the problem! We were to call the police! But Booking.com promised to solve the issue with the hotel. Later, they offered 1 night refund. After 3 hours later theyrefused to do any refund because they did not make check out for the room that I never had its keys or did check in... It seems like 1-star hotel when you meet them. Besides that, Wifi is not working perfectly I had to go to the reception and the guy was doing try and error for a half of hour to connect my mac to the wifi. Wifi is not stable at all. I WOULD SAY AS HOTEL BUILDING IS GOOD but the staff (especially the reception Manager and wifi need a lot of improvement and training. The worst part is they lie and keep lies! For what? For money! That is too bad! I wish that the owner of this building can use this feedback to fix these issues then with the building’s facilities it can be a real 5 stars hotel not a fake 5 stars hotel as many of their guests wrote in the reviews.

It has inspiring nature of Abant.The hotel is near the lake.Although in winter the hotel was warm.Especially dinner was fascinating.Also the dinner room is giant and also atmosphere ..why I advise to visit there.I think I will choose again.

This is my experience in Buyuk Abant Hotel, in April, The rooms were clean and spacious. The swimming pool was big and nice. It was snowing in the last days of my stay so the view while swimming was nice while it was snowing since there were big windows next to the pool. Also there were days when it did not snow, it is good both with and without snow. There were a lot of activities like table tennis and 8 ball pool. As well as a basketball court. Above all the view of the lake, in both faces, frozen and unfrozen was nice

Person working at the reception is very rude and unprofessional. Waiting a while for the doorman.?? A bad smell in the room is not acceptable. I am not even mentioning the old furniture like in the room from 80's. We are currently staying at the facility and update our experience as it goes.

One of the nicest experience you should try when you come to turkey ?? this hotel is very nice and cozy they have everything indoor even cinema and the lake view is beyond magnificent the weather this time not that cold maximum of -7 The food there is really nice and delicious we had our booking half board and it was great they have also tea time between 4:30 to 5:30 and at night they have live music you don’t have to go out for anything they gym pool so you will enjoy your time there totally recommended

I stayed a night with my family in Feb 2022. We enjoyed with our stay. The hotel is located at a nice spot next to the lake. We reserved a room with the lake view but it didn’t make sense to pay more as it was not possible to have clear lake view due to the trees in front of the hotel. Hotel had half board and both breakfast and dinner had variety of tasty food. There was open buffet and the food was located behind the glass and served by hotel staff. Thanks to the management for taking necessary precaution for the food service. Hotel staff were kind and helpful. p.s. Room needs some minor repairs especially for the frame of windows (photos were attached). The entrance fee for the nature park is 24 TL for the car and valid fir 3 days.
