My family and I went to bodrum sualtı müzesi (Bodrum museum of underwater archaeology) a few days ago. It is located in the Bodrum castle. The castle was under restoration, so we could not visit big part of it. There was no information frames also. In the castle there was a very old church but they don't know when it was built. In the 16th century, it was captured by Ottomans with the castle since it is in the castle. The sultan added it a minaret and turned it to a mosque. There is a cross on its door, they did not remove it. From outher side, it was looking like a usual building but from inner side it was such a nice building, I would advice you to see it. In the ground of the mosque, there are ruins of old churches. They put a glass floor there and we saw a human skeleton. The view of the castle was pretty impressive.

I give it a five because you should absolutely go. This castle is gorgeous and full of neat history. My main criticism is that there is little information on the Knights that built the castle. I’d love to have more history in the castle about the castle. Instead most of the history comes from other locations or from ancient shipwrecks. This is cool but I’d love for them to focus their museum on the place we were.

A beautiful medieval castle with a museum display from antiquity to the Middle Ages, great exhibits, an unavoidable place for all lovers of ancient history. Place with the most beautiful view in the whole of Bodrum, if you want to have great photos from Bodrum this is another reason to visit this castle

I suggest to visit during sunset to see the spectacular sunset view and enjoy the beautiful courtyards when the weather is cooler. I have visited castle and the museum so many times in the past but i enjoyed more this time after recent renovation.

The castle has multiple small museums. The Underwater Archeology Museum is the most magical although it is pretty tiny. It feels like walking back in time into an underwater world. You can see a reconstruction of a ship that sunk hundreds of years ago. Together with that, objects from the ship are displayed.
