Cami kelimesi, başlangıçta sadece Cuma namazı kılınan "El mescidü'l Câmi" kısaltılmış şekli idi. Şimdi ise cami olarak kaldı.caminin güzel olması olmaması birşey ifade etmez.zaten yeryüzu mesciddir.esas olarak şirksiz olarak ibadet etmektir.
Mosque means "Gathering, bringing together". In a religious sense; A place that gathers people for a specific purpose is called a mosque. This aim is to serve Allah. The word mosque was originally an abbreviated form of "Al mescidü'l Mosque", where only Friday prayers were performed. Now it remained as a mosque. It does not mean anything if the mosque is not beautiful. It is already a masjid on earth. It is basically worshiping without shirks.
