Really poor unfriendly office staff, not helpful. The Gulet trip and crew were brilliant.

I went on a cruise with Barbaros Yachting in September this year and it was fantastic before this I did a cruise around Greece and Croatia in a non luxury ship so it was an amazing difference to have a luxury liner we had individual ensuite size showers and a room about 3 times the size of the other two ships we went on the staff were amazing they all spoke perfect English and there were a lot of staff on the ship for there annual holiday where on the ship with us and as locals were able to give us more information than usual the whole thing felt like a family event. The food was amazing my friend has a stomach condition and as just can not have dairy meat or breads and even though we didn't notify them before hand they were able to accommodate her at one point the owners went on a fishing trip and served it up to us!! That's fresh as!!! Would highly recommend Barbaros can't wait to go back again

While planning a holiday in Turkey and hoping to once again enjoy the pleasures of a gulet cruise we’d experienced in 2012 along the Croatian coast, we enquired on February 25, 2015 about a 7-day ‘Blue Cruises’ Dodecanese North cruise advertised by Barbaros Yachting. The scheduled departure date from Bodrum in Turkey was September 27. On September 21, less than a week before the scheduled departure, Barbaros sent an email saying: “Due to the sad situation of the refugees on the North Dodecanese islands we have taken some action in order to provide you a relaxing holiday. So we have updated you to the South Dodecanese islands (including Rhodes and Symi) on the higher standard Gulet BB.” It all sounded lovely, but it turned out to be somewhat less. To begin with the boat – the ‘nearly luxury B&B’ – is simply a large gulet with few elements of anything luxurious. The cabins are all below deck and feature dim lighting with dark panelled walls and small portholes. Midway along the accommodation area is the engine room which is noisy with the doors closed and even noisier when they’re opened. The cabins can be stuffy on hot days and when the air conditioning goes off at midnight become uncomfortable. Our fellow passengers included eight members of Barbaros Yachting management and their adult family members. They occupied a prime lounging area at the stern most of the time and their chain-smoking made the area unpleasant for the rest of us. The cruise quickly took on an air of a ‘company picnic’ with all the company employees and the crew having a holiday of their own. The captain even delayed one departure by three hours to go off fishing with some of the privileged few, leaving the rest of us to kill time until his return. The crew seemed competent at seamanship but when it came to hospitality little training was evident. Bartending was amateurish and meals were often late or poorly organized. Few spoke much English other than the captain, making it hard to get questions answered or make requests for items like mixed drinks. And the glasses of watery orange juice brought around at breakfast time weren’t included in the cruise price, despite nothing being said about that specific item, and cost two Euros each as we discovered when checking out. The food was sadly very ordinary with no highlights to remember. The cook was obviously no chef and specialised mainly in simple salads. Meat at mealtimes was scarce and the deep-fried baby snapper (or whatever fish it was) one night was matched in toughness by the deep-fried chicken thigh on another night. We seemed to stick fairly closely to the published itinerary but found our time at the nominated islands, other than Kos or Rhodes, was pretty limited. An impromptu meeting with the captain each day was the only source of information for the passengers about what was coming up on the next day. Two of the scheduled ‘stops’ were made while anchored offshore for whatever reason, possibly to save docking fees. This meant that going ashore required hopping off the swimming steps into a small Zodiac boat and returning the same way – not a good prospect for a 72-year old with a bad knee. Did we have a great cruise? No. Did we feel ripped off? Yes. And that’s why this review is negative. It’s a warning that anybody considering booking a cruise with Barbaros Yachting / Blue Cruises would be well-advised to look elsewhere. They are very good at promoting themselves but there are many alternative cruise providers available that will leave you with a better feeling about your holiday.

I was googling about the company. I have booked the tour from another agency and was searching to book directly with them. Since I have too have been on this tour at the very same date with the gentleman and I want to mention that it was one of the greatest holidays of my life! I totally disagree with the comment above! We had so much fun, the itinerary was completed as mentioned on the advertisement. When some gentlemen went fishing it was in the 5 o'clock a.m. and we had our departure right on time. They even shared the fresh fish they caught with 28 other people on boat which was quite generous of them. The boat is 40 meters and people smoked only on the deck. There is an aft deck and on the front there were three floors of other decks. Not even need to mention the huge inner parts. Cabins were spacious. The crew was great, running to serve on their top. So I totally do not agree with the comment above and I am definitely booking again with them this summer. Thank you team Barbaros Yachting.

Avoid this company. We were only allowed to pay in cash to book this trip. We were told there was AC in the rooms, and there was, but they did not work. My wife and I had to sleep on the deck because of the stuffy room and this meant waiting for the area to clear each evening. Hardly the private, relaxing trip I was expecting. The food was basic and always short. There was always this weird dynamic of who would have the last of anything served. There was never any concern if more food would be needed. There was also no communication as to how long we were staying at each stopping point. It was very disappointing and could write more but I really don't want to relive all that was wrong with this cruise. Trust me though, you do not want to waste your money with this company.

I previously booked a greek island tour with Barbaros and it all went well.. the company owned the ship and service and everything else were exceptionally great. Having this past experience, I booked it again last summer, I wish I didn't. Apparently, company is in financial turmoil as a result of significant reduction of tourist coming in the country started changing things around. I heard some saying the company bankrupt long time ago and kept the website and listings and former employees are running the business by referring bookings to other contractors and make commision. That's exactly what happened to us last year on our Marmaris tour. Upon arrival, we were shocked with the condition of the boat, it was run down and has not had any renovation for ages. Room was a lot smaller, bathrooms had awful smell and we didn't have any other choice since there was no time to change our plan. We had a rude captain who was throwing orders instead of using polite language, he was refusing the comply with our requests entire trip. Food was awful, sometimes was not even enough. They started charging even for drinking water which suppose to all inclusive tour. It was all about saving money and make it more profitable for the captain and his ship, because this was not the ship that owned by Barbaros, Barbaros simply was the middle man who sold our booking to a random touring ship with captain being the owner. Moreover, we found out that other people on the ship booked the trip from other sources and companies.. scamming hit us hard from every angle.. We still tried to be positive, as we approached the shores, we wanted crew to drop us off to restaurants or simply to public beaches since the food was simply not enough and very low end. The cook was a young lady who admitted that she wasn't a cook, she was just helping.. we couldn't blame her too much. But what frustrates us most was we felt like we were the prisoners of the captain who kept giving us ridiculous excuses such as not having enough gasoline to use zodiac boat to drop us off to shore or we didn't have enough time or there are regulations etc.. but people who has taken this route numerous times knew he was just giving excuses not to lose us to other restaurants so that he could sell us more alcohol. sewer smell inside the room was unbearable, tiny room was very uncomfortable.. they false advertised the whole thing such as the rooms suppose to be with AC. There was an AC but captain never turned it on to save money.. the treatment of the crew by the captain was another dilemma, they were understaffed and always tired with bloody eyes, it was obvious that they were overworked 16 hours a day. the only good part was swimming and enjoying the crystal clear water of mediterranean, Turkey is beautiful, I want to go back but I wish I could find a quality sailboat just like the Barbaros used to have. I don't mind paying more. NEVER EVER AGAIN! stay away from Barbaros and do a detailed research before you commit any touring agency as the tourism in this country in desperate situation, Therefore, the significant reduction of the pricing causes dire conditions. If you could recommend me a better reliable company to book a bule voyage tour please let me know. thank you
