★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es ist das einzige Gebäude, das mit einigen Verlusten von Hatays 5 Eingangstüren bis heute geschützt werden kann. Stadtmauer, Aquaduk, Stadttor und Damm gehören zusammen. Es wurde in der Zeit von Justinian, einem der römischen Kaiser, erbaut. Es ist 18 Meter hoch. Diese in einem tiefen Tal gebauten Türwände sollen mit ihrer Bindungsfunktion das Hochwasser kontrollieren.
Wir besichtigten das Tor von oben am 27.08.2021 und haben sie im "Reisebericht Antiochia am Orontes / Hatay Teil 88" beschrieben, mit Fotos hinterlegt und als empfehlenswert beschrieben.
It is the only building that can be protected with some losses from Hatay's 5 front doors to date. City wall, aquaduk, city gate and dam belong together. It was built in the time of Justinian, one of the Roman Emperors. It is 18 meters high. Built in a deep valley, these door walls are said to control floodwaters with their binding function.
We inspected the gate from above on August 27th, 2021 and described it in the "Travel Report Antiochia am Orontes / Hatay Part 88", with photos and described it as recommendable.

Wild nature with great views and historical remainings. A little pit hard to find good recommended to ask locals for directions.
